Medicare Part D Costs Under Budget
According to The Washington Times, Medicare Part D costs for 2009 were $60.8 billion, well below the $111.2 billion projected five years ago.
Our Take: The release of this data provides a positive perspective and hope for supporters of health reform that similar favorable results might be seen in the coming years. Obviously, we'll be following these trends. At this point, the Medicare Part D drug benefit will cost enrollees about a dollar more per month in 2011, about $30. The NYTimes covers the announcement.
